This is a one family owned piano from new. With restoration now completed this is a wonderful chance to own and enjoy this baby grand as has been the case since 1939. The casework has been tastefully refinished here in Oxfordshire and the specification of the stringing and action overhaul by Shackell Pianos Ltd. has included; *Plate gilding, plate lettering, new agraffes, new stringing support felts *Soundboard refinishing *All new strings *New damper felts and damper tray overhaul, new adjustable pedal rods *New action frame, hammer shanks, hammer heads and repetition lever overhaul *Key coverings replaced with all related key and keyframe overhaul. Despite its compact size make no mistake, this piano delivers the sound only a Steinway can offer. The action is easy under the finger and highly responsive. A true gem at the close of the 'golden era' of piano making from the world's leading manufacturer. The price includes an element of margin scheme VAT at 17.5% but this will rise to 20% if not sold before January 2011, so expect a rise in price next year if not sold before. Nothing else could look so lovely next to the Christmas tree and it can be gift wrapped if requested!
