The W.Hoffmann Piano

W. Hoffmann pianos have been existence since 1893 and were first manufactured in Berlin. In later years the Hoffmann name was manufactured by Feurich, but most importantly from our perspective today was the acquisition of W. Hoffmann by Karl Schulze who had previously acquired Bechstein in 1986.

W. Hoffmann pianos, now part of the C. Bechstein group of companies is now manufactured in the city of Hradec Kralove in the Czech Republic. This city has also been home to the Petrof Piano factory, a sparkling jewel in the regions heritage. The W. Hoffmann factory is but a two hour drive from the main Bechstein factory in Seifhennersdorf in Germany and itself close to the Czech border. With an investment of over $10 M in updating the production technology at Hradec Kralove we can easily see why the name of W. Hoffmann is now known in growing circles the world over as a very serious piano manufacturer.

With a workforce of a little under 200 and working a long six day week, W. Hoffmann pianos represent very high quality and yet offer affordability within the range of upright and grand pianos. As it says on the cover of the brochure “The sound of Europe” - This is W. Hoffmann.
